Oaten’s has come a long way from the store’s humble beginnings.
Bill Oaten first opened the Kyogle Appliance Centre in Kyogle in 1973. Selling electrical appliances, Bill developed a reputation for value and service, later expanding into furniture in a second store.
Several relocations, store mergers and a rebranding saw the business evolve into the impressive modern showroom that Oaten’s is today.
A major remodelling project in 2003 doubled the showroom floor to 2000m2, making Oaten’s home to the largest display of fine furniture and quality household goods between Port Macquarie in NSW and Tweed Heads.
We love modern living
Our focus on quality and classic styles has seen Oaten’s not only stand the test of time, but also emerge as a unique player among the bulk-buying, cut-price chains found in bigger city centres.
We’re talking handcrafted Tasmanian timber tables, luxurious Norwegian leather lounges, and super soft sofas made to order in Melbourne, to name a few. Oaten’s is also the exclusive stockist in their area for brands such as Stressless and IMG Comfort.
“People travel a long way to see what we have,” says Bill Oaten, whose son Mark now heads up their experienced team.
“We are known for stocking quality products that you won’t find elsewhere. People are often surprised what else they find once they’re in store.”
Your one-stop shop
Oaten’s is truly a one-stop home lover’s shop — under the one roof you can browse furniture, flooring, beds and manchester, curtains and blinds, electrical goods and appliances, as well as distinctive homewares and decor to give your home that special touch.
But there’s one thing that hasn’t changed in 40 odd years at Oaten’s — the emphasis on customer service.
The Oaten’s team know their product range inside out. They also go that extra mile to source the items that are right for your needs — be it on the showroom floor or via their network of suppliers.
Quality, style and service never grow old at Oaten’s.
